Search warrants are often obtained by police officers in Texas when illicit activity is suspected. Deputies stated that a man was heading toward his vehicle and was detained by the police. Officers reportedly entered the motel room without force, where they detained a female. Upon a search of the room and the vehicle, police purportedly discovered over 198 grams of methamphetamine and 21 grams of heroin. Two handguns, a rifle, 92 grams of marijuana and $11,770 in cash were also discovered, according to reports.
The woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance less than a gram. She may also face federal charges, pending further investigation. The man is said to be facing unspecified federal charges.
