Man suspected of DUI following Texas crash

Car accidents often happen faster than those involved can even consider reacting. In the aftermath of a crash, a person involved could panic and respond in an unexpected way. Unfortunately, a man in Texas is suspected of DUI following a crash that appears to have only caused minor injuries.

The incident allegedly involved a 23-year-old man and a 16-year-old female who had reportedly only had her driver’s license for two months prior to the accident. The teenager claims that the man pulled out in front of her. Although she says she swerved in an attempt to avoid the collision, the man’s vehicle reportedly T-boned her vehicle.

Reports accuse the man of fleeing the scene. However, others who claimed to have witnessed the accident followed the vehicle. They reportedly intercepted him at an intersection and prevented him from leaving. He was arrested once police arrived at the scene.

Many of the details of the accident are unclear, including what led police to suspect that the man was under the influence at the time of the accident and what actions were taken to confirm their suspicions. All people suspected of a crime are presumed innocent until and unless proved otherwise. In order to do this, there must be sufficient evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Those accused of DUI in Texas often feel more confident as they navigate through the criminal justice system when they have an experienced attorney on their side who is willing to fight aggressively on their behalf.
